Navy Claims Ninth-Consecutive Patriot League Presidents’ Cup
Navy has won the Patriot League Presidents’ Cup for the ninth consecutive year, finishing with 112 points. Army was second with 84 points, followed by Boston University with 78 points.
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy has claimed its ninth consecutive Patriot League Presidents’ Cup, the league announced today. The Midshipmen won the cup by a wide margin, finishing with 112 points. Army was second with 84 points, followed by Boston University with 78 points.
Navy won the cup by winning championships in men’s basketball, men’s cross country, men’s indoor track and field, men’s lacrosse, men’s outdoor track and field, men’s rowing, women’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s indoor track and field, women’s lacrosse, and women’s rowing.
This is the ninth consecutive year that Navy has won the Presidents’ Cup. The Midshipmen have won the cup 11 times in the last 12 years.
“We are very proud of our student-athletes for their hard work and dedication,” said Navy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk. “They have represented Navy with great distinction on and off the field of competition.”
The Presidents’ Cup is awarded to the Patriot League school with the best overall athletic performance. The cup is based on a school’s performance in 19 sports.
Navy’s ninth consecutive Presidents’ Cup win is a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence in athletics. The Midshipmen have a long history of success in the Patriot League, and they continue to be one of the top athletic programs in the country.
