Earlham College Outfielder Max Fries Named to Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game

CINCINNATI, Ohio (July 9, 2023) – Earlham College outfielder Max Fries has been named a starter for the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL) All-Star game. A member of the Cincinnati Steam, Fries has a .359 batting average in 14 games played. He has recorded 14 hits, four doubles, and one homer. He has also brought in six RBI on the season.

Fries, a native of Cincinnati, is in his second season with the Steam. He was named to the GLSCL All-Newcomer team last season. He is a two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) selection at Earlham.

The GLSCL All-Star game will be played on July 18 at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.

Fries is the first Earlham College player to be named a starter for the GLSCL All-Star game since 2018. He is the third Earlham player to be named to the All-Star game in the past four seasons.
